Katja Herbers is daughters of violinist Vera Beths and oboist Werner Herbers. Her childhood was spent in America accompanying her mother on tours with the chamber music group L'Archibudelli. Both of her parents got married again, with her mother marrying cellist Anner bylsma. They brought her into the world of theatre.
